Pelican's Contribution to COVID-19 Relief

Updated: Apr 2, 2020

Pelican Tax Services is proud to support our community by offering a COVID Relief Policy: FREE tax preparation and e-filing to those affected by the coronavirus outbreak.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this offer, all of the criteria below must be met.

Those who have been laid-off due to the coronavirus

If you have been laid off due to the coronavirus outbreak, don't forget to file for unemployment! Bring in proof of unemployment dated between March 15, 2020 - April 14, 2020 and your tax preparation and e-filing will be free of charge. File your unemployment claim online!

Not sure what counts as "proof of unemployment"?

  1. Log into your profile and click on "Claim Information/File Appeal".

  2. Select your current claim.

  3. Select "Eligibility Determination".

  4. Click the appropriate "Issue type"

  5. Print the "Eligibility Determination Detail" page.

If this option is not available to you, a letter from your previous employer will also work.

Households filing 2019 returns with $30,000 annual household income or less

When your budget is already tight, it can be difficult to prepare for a quarantine. Instead of spending your earnings on filing your tax return, we want you to use your paycheck what you need to keep yourself and your family safe, healthy, and in good spirits during this pandemic.

Yukon/Mustang Residents

We are blessed to be able to help our neighbors and friends during this difficult time.

Drop-off your return

Safely and securely send us your tax documents digitally via our dropbox portal through SecureFilePro! If you prefer to drop off your documents in person at our office, we ask that you make a drop-off appointment and review the safety measures recommended by the CDC.

File by July 15, 2020

Tax Season 2020 officially ends on July 15, 2020 (as of March 21, 2020). Pelican will follow our posted hours of operation as usual, which includes reduced hours after April 15th. However, as the season has been extended we will be happy to schedule "after hours" appointments throughout the duration of Tax Season 2020. Although not eligible for our Free Tax Preparation offer, we will continue to schedule desk appointments throughout the 2020 Tax Season as well. Book your drop off or desk appointment online!
